Documentary Studies
CSF's Documentary Studies program offers a Bachelor of Arts degree for students interested in applying documentary methodologies -- especially photography, film, and non-fiction writing -- to the study of society.
The program particularly encourages cross-cultural and international fieldwork, with an ongoing oral history project and a close partnership with Sabastiao Salgado's Instituto Terra in Brazil.
Fundraising Event
Documentary Studies presents a fundraising event on Friday, May 30, at 6 p.m. in Tipton Hall, for the forthcoming film Dreaming in American.
The film's principal creators include Zoë Dwyer '06, who will read an excerpt of her written work, Katherine Lee '08 (BFA), who will sell one of her paintings in a silent auction (some of Zoë's framed photographs will be auctioned as well), and Eliot Fisher '07, who made the film Power on the River, with Anna Kongs '06.
The event will also include a screening of the preview of Dreaming in American, conversations with producers in England and Brazil, and live Brazilian music.
