Performing Arts - Student Work
"Five Women Wearing the Same Dress is a fresh-as-a-daisy comedy, funny as can be . . . " said the New York Daily News. This comedy, by playwright Alan Ball, is set in an upstairs bedroom during an ostentations wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tennessee estate. Five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent and touching celebration of their spirit.
Directed by graduating Senior Roxanne Tapia, this production will be presented in the Weckesser Studio as part of the annual student-produced plays of the Performing Arts Department at CSF. These studio presentations are an important part of the education of PAD students, and consistently popular with audiences. This production is completely produced by students, who provide all the designing, building, public relations, and management aspects, as well as performing and directing, to make the show a reality.
