The safety and security of all members of our CSF community is the responsibility not only of this department, but of the entire campus as a whole. We can all take part, whether by increasing awareness of safe practices, our surroundings, or simple application of common sense. As this page continues to grow you will find 24-hour contact information for your security team, monthly safety and security tips, and the occasional alert in the event of an emergent condition on campus.
It is the mission of the College of Santa Fe department of Safety and Security to work diligently to provide a safe and secure environment in which to learn, work and live while respecting the rights and dignity of each member of the CSF community. We will focus on continuous improvement in order to provide top-quality service in an ethical, courteous and professional manner.
This department is composed of a full-time director of safety and security, overseeing 24-hour physical security provided by Associated Security Industries. The campus security office can be found in the LaSalle Hall lobby, in the relative center of campus.
Your safety and security staff cares about our campus. Working hand-in-hand with all members of our unique community, and in conjunction with the departments of Housing/Residential and Student Life, we strive to ensure a safe environment for growth is provided for all through awareness, consideration of others, and enforcement of CSF policy. Should you have any questions, concerns, suggestions on improvement, or just find yourself in need of someone to talk to- please don’t hesitate to contact us day or night; our door is always open.
Campus Escort
CSF provides an escort on campus at any time (for example, walking from a classroom to your residence hall or to your car). To request an escort, simply call extension 5000 (on campus) or (505) 424-5000.

For non-emergency calls to the Santa Fe police department, dial (505) 473-5080. When calling, please remember to include all pertinent information including name, location, time, purpose of the call, and contact number.
Crime Prevention
Any crime committed on CSF premises should be promptly reported to Campus Security who may, in turn, report the crime to the appropriate municipal authorities.
In the event of a serious crime or incident on campus that poses a danger to students, crime watch notices may be posted around the campus and appropriate notices sent through electronic and other means. All members of the campus community are encouraged to review such information so that steps can be taken to minimize their exposure to risks.
The entire college community can help keep campus crime to a minimum. For safety reasons, all main residence hall doors are kept locked. Do not prop open any locked door, do not allow others to follow you in to a locked building, and do not give your key to friends.
Report suspicious persons to Campus Security to ensure the safety of all members of the CSF community.
In an effort to assist with campus crime prevention, speakers are available to present workshops on personal safety, sexual assault, and other campus security/personal safety topics. Contact the Director of Campus Security for more information on speakers or workshops.
