Dining
Our dining facilities are managed by Bon Appétit, the nation's premier college dining company. Bon Appétit provides fresh, tasty and healthy meals, including house-made desserts, fair trade coffee, and for those so inclined, delicious vegetarian and vegan options.
There are two dining facilities on campus: the Peach Pit Café and the St. Michael's Snack Shop.
Meal Plans
All students living in the traditional residence halls must select a meal plan. The on-campus program is designed to be flexible and to meet the needs of each individual. The program has two parts: a traditional board meal, which includes "all you can eat" meals available in the Café every day, with some variations; and a "declining balance system," which uses "flex" dollars. These can be used at the Snack Bar where items are sold on an a la carte basis. This flexible system allows students to exercise choice for the majority of their dining.
Meals are provided when traditional classes are in session and on a limited basis during break periods. The board calendar for all meals during the academic year is available from Bon Appétit's Manager or the Housing and Residential Life Office.
For rates, please see the Tuition and Fees page.
MEAL PLAN A:
A1: 16 meals per week in the Café and $200 Flex Dollars.
A2: 155 meals per semester in the Café and $300 Flex Dollars.
MEAL PLAN B:
B3: 11 meals per week in the Café and $150 Flex Dollars.
B4: 165 meals per semester in the Café and $150 Flex Dollars.
APARTMENT PLAN: (apartment residents only)
C1: 45 meals per semester in the Café and $210 Flex Dollars.
Meal Plans A1 and B3: Utilizing a "use it or lose it" system, students receive either 16 (A1) or 11 (B3) meals per week. Students scan their ID cards to deduct meals from their weekly meal balance or use their flex dollars in the SUB or Café. Once the meal balance has been met for the week, students have the option of utilizing their flex dollars for additional meals. Any unused meals during the week will not be carried over to subsequent weeks. These plans are great for students with eating schedules that do not greatly vary from week to week.
Meal Plans A2 and B4: Operating under the declining balance system, students receive either 155 (A2) or 165 (B4) meals per semester. Students scan their ID cards to deduct from their semester meal balance. Once the meal balance has been met for the semester, students have the option of utilizing their flex dollars for meals. Differing from the A1 and B3 plans, students can use their meals at their discretion in any frequency or volume during the semester without having to ration a certain number of meals per week. These plans are great for students with eating schedules that can vary from week to week.
Adding Flex Dollars to Your Meal Plan
Adding Flex Dollars is easy: contact the Housing & Residential Life Office and the amount will be billed to your student account and added to your meal card. Note that flex dollars roll over from fall to spring semester, but meals do not.
Changing Your Meal Plan
Students may change meal plans ONLY during the first two weeks of each semester by submitting a request in writing to the Housing and Residential Life Office.
Non-Campus Residents
Non-campus residents may purchase meals on an individual basis, a limited meal plan, or Add-on Dollars to be used in either dining facility. Contact the Housing and Residential Life Office for more information.
