Monte del Sol Charter School is in its 10th year of existence and has, from day one, supported, promoted and encouraged the creative arts as one of the four foundation pillars of the school. From self-expression to curriculum integration, all of the arts have played an important role in preparing lifelong learners. Our programming is supported by a very qualified, caring and talented group of arts teachers. Monte del Sol offers seven different arts disciplines as electives at both the middle school and high school levels.

This year, Monte del Sol’s Arts Fundraiser is scheduled for late winter. There will be an event held at the College of Santa Fe Fine Arts Gallery, located at 1600 St. Michael’s Drive in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The event will consist of a student art exhibition, student film screening, theater and choral music performances as well as a silent auction that will include visual art, jewelry, pottery, restaurant, gift cards, spa packages, and much more. The event will commence on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, and start promptly at 5:30 p.m. with an opening reception and the beginning of the silent auction. Throughout the evening there will be film screenings and performances. Silent auction bidding will open until 8 p.m., and all auction items that do not sell on Feb. 6 will be available for bid until Friday, Feb. 12. The art exhibition will be open to the public through Friday, Feb. 26.
